Gryffindor wedding
After the Ravenclaw-themed decorations, this week we are going to see some color palettes for Gryffindor wedding.
It happens just in coincidence with the central week of August, at the height of the sign of Leo, which is the House symbol.
Gryffindor is the house of the protagonists of the saga like Harry, Hermione, and the Weasleys and of many important characters, such as Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall.
The colors of the house are red, in an amaranth shade, and gold.
The founder, Godric Gryffindor, according to Pottermore, came from the wild moors and was known for his courage and his dueling skills.
I imagine him as the wizard version of Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights.
The Gryffindor common room is located in a tower, like that of Ravenclaw. In the books, it is described as a warm and comfortable environment with a large fireplace, sofas, and cushions around which the students meet.
Taking these references I tried to create four colors palettes that always include the house colors for a contemporary Gryffindor wedding.
Despite my love for tartan, I had to skip tartan-themed decoration. I felt it was quite strange the country look of tartan with gold. What do you think about it?
I skipped also Christmas-themed wedding because I felt it was “too much”.
Always

The first color palette is the most thematic of all: it has the red and the gold of the house in an intense way and the beautiful Harry Potter cake is enchanting with its Golden Snitch and the Deathly Hallows symbol. I love it.
I know, I said that the Muggles should not realize that it is a themed- wedding, but when I saw this cake I could not resist proposing it at least in a combination.
On Pinterest I created a board for each house where I put other inspirations and another one for the Harry Potter theme so you can find ideas to make the Harry Potter theme more present (remember not to overdo it, because it is always a marriage with many Muggles).
Contemporary romance

The second color palette is more romantic: burgundy, gold, a dark red tending to brown, and cream for flowers.
These decorations are in industrial style, giving a very contemporary touch. The prevalence of cream and ivory warm the reds and avoids the glacial effect that is often felt by showing the reds on the white of the tablecloths.
Stunning elegance

This arrangement with gold risers for flowers, the combination of intense red, magenta and light pink, with the gold of goblets, risers, and tableware, creates a dazzling effect while remaining elegant.
After having dared to fill the table with gold as if it were a Renaissance banquet, the cake cannot be other than a red velvet cake.
Soft elegance

The fourth composition is very elegant too, with burgundy and navy blue, which is accompanied by gold and antique rose flower details.
They are all details that recall the color of the Gryffindors without overdoing it thanks to the navy blue that temperates the power of red and gold.
So, what is the combination that you liked the most? Do you have other people in mind? Write it in the comments!
